Mine, Automate, Expand

You start with a coal mine. Tap on mineshaft workers to send them mining. They bring ore to the elevator. The elevator carries it to the warehouse. The warehouse converts it to cash. Once you can afford a manager for any of these three stations, that station runs automatically. Your job becomes managing which upgrades to buy next and when to open new mineshaft levels. Eventually the whole mine runs itself and you expand to new resource types and new mines entirely.

The Prestige System

Once your mine is developed enough, you can prestige. This resets your current mine but gives you Super Cash, a premium currency that provides permanent multipliers to all future runs. Your next playthrough earns significantly faster. The idle genre is built on this loop and Idle Miner executes it well. How to Progress Faster

Managers first: The moment you can afford a manager for any station, buy it. Automation compounds. A managed mineshaft plus a managed elevator earns exponentially more than either alone.
Elevator is the bottleneck: Most players upgrade mineshafts obsessively and neglect the elevator. If your elevator is slower than your miners, you're losing output. Upgrade elevator speed regularly.

Idle Miner Tycoon was created by Kolibri Games (originally Fluffy Fairy Games), founded in 2016 by five students in Berlin. Released July 1, 2016 after eight weeks of development. Ubisoft acquired a 75% stake in 2020 at a valuation of €160 million. The studio has expanded the franchise with Idle Restaurant Tycoon and Idle Taxi Tycoon. The browser version runs in HTML5 without plugins.
